Emmanuelle Caplette

Emmanuelle Caplette made her debut at age nine joining a local drum and bugle corps in her native Quebec. Ever since, drums have been her life. She won many awards as a young drummer and studied percussion at Drummondville College with Camil Bélisle, later studying at the University of Montreal.

She has performed on numerous TV shows and toured with several different French-Canadian artists in Quebec. She also appeared at major events such as the Cape Breton Drum Festival, The Winnipeg DrumTalk Festival, Drum Ladies Fest in Italy, TamTam Festival And The Bag Show In France.

In 2013 Emmanuelle joined ex-Police guitarist Andy Summers in his band Circa Zero, and since then has toured as musical director with Stephane Rousseau. In 2016 Emmanuelle announced a new venture in online lessons. Emmanuelle endorses Sonor drums, Evans heads, Vic Firth sticks, Sabian cymbals, Roland mixers, and Sennheiser microphones.

Dom Famularo

Dom Famularo has been traveling the globe preaching the gospel of drumming for over 40 years. An intense performer, Dom is one of the most respected solo drum artists in the world, with a career built solely upon his unique skills as a drummer, educator, author and motivational speaker.

He has presented master classes and clinics around the globe in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Columbia, Venezuela, Uruguay, Peru, England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Denmark, Russia, Israel, Serbia, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Costa Rica, Honduras, Puerto Rico, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, Canary Islands and South Africa.

Thomas Lang

Thomas Lang, took up drumming at the age of 5. In addition to lessons at local music schools and years of private tuition, he was classically trained at the Vienna Conservatory of Music. After leaving the conservatory in 1985, Lang began playing professionally, working his way through the European pop, rock and jazz scenes. After leaving Vienna for London/England in 1990, Thomas started working his way through the global music scene. As a session musician he played for artists such as Paul Gilbert (Racer X/Mr. Big) John Wetton (Asia/King Crimson), Robert Fripp, Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Peter Gabriel, Asia, Nik Kershaw, Tina Turner, Robbie Williams, Kelly Clarkson and many more.

Lang’s original practice-regime eventually became the basis for his 2-part series of instructional videos, Ultimatives Schlagzeug Part I and II, which were originally released in 1995. These videos were re-released in 2004 by Hudson Music. Over the years, Lang released additional instructional DVDs and books, including Creative Control and Creative Coordination And Advanced Foot Techniques— the latter based around multi-pedal orchestrations and advanced foot technique.

In 1995, Lang also released his debut solo project, Mediator, which topped the charts in Europe and garnered positive reviews. He has since released multiple solo albums and collaborations including his most recent release, Robo Sapiens.

Recipient of numerous “Drum Educator Of The Year” awards from leading international publications and websites, Thomas is a frequent guest instructor at universities, drum seminars and drum camps all over the world and he has appeared at the most prestigious drum festivals on the planet for more than 20 years. Lang also owns an online drum school, “Thomas Lang’s Drum Universe” and is the president of the International Percussion Association (IPA).

Thomas’ other educational projects include the world-renowned “Thomas Lang Drumming Boot Camp”, a multi-day, multi-city drumming experience that he has hosted in 35 countries worldwide, and “The Big Drum Bonanza”, a five-day, mini drum festival that has featured guest artists like Virgil Donati, Stanton Moore, Chris Coleman, Dave Elitch, Kenny Aronoff, George Kollias, and Jeff Hamilton, among others. In 2004, Lang completed the largest drum clinic tour the world had ever seen (220 clinics in 48 countries)— another epic achievement in a career of epic achievements..

Rick Latham

Rick Latham is among the rare breed of drummers that easily fits into many musical styles and performing situations.  Considered by many as a guru of contemporary linear drumming, Rick literally “wrote the book” when he penned his classic Advanced Funk Studies. Named by Modern Drummer Magazine as one of “The Top 25 Drum Books Ever Published”,  Advanced Funk Studies, along with his subsequent tutorial Contemporary Drumset Techniques, have shaped the course of modern drumming.

Rick earned his Bachelors degree from East Carolina University, where he studied with Harold Jones. He was then granted a full scholarship to attend the University of North Texas, while pursuing a Masters degree in Percussion.

The Southern-born “Stickman” has spent the past three decades as a member of the Los Angeles music scene— performing, touring and recording with artists from a variety of genres, including Quincy Jones, the Edgar Winter band, Juice Newton, B.B. King, Pat Travers, Neal Schon and many more. His skill, creativity and versatility have been featured in television themes, jingles and motion picture soundtracks such as Fast Forward, Gone in 60 Seconds, Daredevil and Spiderman. And, as a world-renowned drum clinician, Rick has traveled throughout Europe, Asia and North and South America.

Didi Negron

Didi Negron is powerful and versatile drummer who performs with the Cirque du Soleil worldwide touring show Amaluna. She enjoys having an influence on the lives of other drummers and has been a four-time judge of the Hit Like A Girl Contest, In 2015 Didi served as spokesperson for Hit Like A Girl. In addition to her touring work, Didi is a noted drum clinicians.

Didi got her first drum set for Christmas at the age of three. Ever since she sat at that white-pearl kit, no one has been able to get her off the drums. She honed her skills studying under jazz drummer John B from California Drum Shop in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and with Terri Lynne Carrington, Dave DiCenso, and jazz legend Ralph Peterson.

Didi has a versatile creative, style of playing with the ability to fit a variety of styles from rock and jazz to Latin, gospel and reggae. Her self-motivated personality and dedication to music, along with what other musicians describe as a phenomenal ear, have made her in demand. Didi is endorsed by Vater Drum Sticks, Sabian Cymbals, Latin Percussion, Kickport, Gretsch Drums, Cympad and Roland.

Anika Nilles

Anika Nilles is a drummer and songwriter based in Germany. Her first EP, called Alter Ego, was written, recorded and released in 2014. Anika’s music can be classified as a mixture of Pop/Rock/ Fusion, but the most important element in her music is always the groove. Her use of the drum set as an expressive instrument rather than just a rhythm keeper allows for some extravagant playing without stealing the focus away from the music.

Anika’s playing style is distinguished by her strong groove, technical finesse, and her unique sound. This was well received with her world tour in 2015 as she travelled to various countries to share her music, which included performances at both PASIC and the London Drum Show in 2015.In 2016 she busied herself, among other things, with authoring publications for various esteemed drumming journals in the UK, USA and Germany, as well as producing her debut album Pikalar, scheduled for release early in 2017.”

Anika plays Tama drums, Meinl cymbals, Vic Firth sticks, and Evans drumheads.

Mona Tavakoli

Mona Tavakoli is a Los Angeles-based drummer, singer and performer who believes in making music that unites, elevates and connects.While Mona is equally comfortable performing as a drummer and a percussionist, she is especially known for adapting the cajón to unexpected genres such as rock and pop. She began playing the Peruvian percussion instrument as a college student taking a flamenco dance class. She recently designed a signature cajón with LP called The MT Box.

Mona started playing drums at age 11 and blossomed into a tenor drum star in her High School marching band. She began her professional musical career in 1999, when she helped form Raining Jane, an all-female rock band, as a student at UCLA. Mona and Raining Jane co-wrote and recorded YES! (Atlantic Records) with Jason Mraz. Mona and Mraz have been collaborating for nearly a decade, touring worldwide and performing together as a duo on programs such as The Today Show, The David Letterman Show, Ellen, Dancing with the Stars, and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. As the Duo Decibel System, Mona (percussion) and Mraz (guitar/vocals) have performed in Antarctica in support of climate change awareness.

21018 marks Mona’s 9th year directing the Rock n’ Roll Camp For Girls Los Angeles and she promotes music education by hosting rhythm workshops at elementary schools, summer camps and colleges around the country. She has been featured in DRUM!, Tom Tom Magazine and is the recipient of the 2016 She Rocks awards “Inspire Award” for her work with the Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls.

Mona is currently touring round the world with Persian pop legend Ebi and will tour this summer with Jason Mraz. She endorses DW Drums and Hardware, Gibraltar Hardware, Latin Percussion, Roland, Sabian Cymbals, Sennheiser Microphones and Vater Percussion.


Camille Bigeault

Camille Bigeault is a 28-year old French drumming sensation from Toulouse, France. Born to musician parents, she started drumming at 13 and composing, playing guitar and singing at 15. Later, she studied drums in a conservatory with a teacher that taught her Jazz, fusion, rock, and metal styles along with double pedal, drum ‘n’ bass, different time signatures and various drum techniques.

She earned a drum award at the school and a jazz musicology degree, all while playing with multiple bands, including Xxelles, a female jazz-fusion band, and La theorie des cordes, a progressive jazz-rock band. She later joined the Genesis tribute band, Genesya, and, after she posting some of her mind-bending, polyrhythmic-based drumming videos on YouTube and other social networks, she was tapped to play in the French rock opera “Le Rouge et Le Noir”.

Since moving to Paris in 2018, Camille has become one of the busiest drummers in the city. She recently completed an educational video project with Drumeo and later this year she will tour with French pop mega-star, Jenifer. Camille endorses Meinl cymbals, Tama drums, Remo heads, Vic Firth sticks and Cympad.

Léa Costantino

Léa Costantino is a French musician who has loved music from a young age. Léa was introduced to drums at the age of 5 when her parents suggested she have drum lessons. This lead to her love of heavy music and encouraged her to play in several bands that toured across Europe at the tail end of her teenage years.

Léa entered the drumming school Dante Agostini of Toulouse at the age of 13 where she became the first female graduate of Daniel Dumoulin’s class and, at the age of 23, received the highest achievable mark from the school. After graduating from College, she has also been a student at the Conservatoire of Montauban where her passion for jazz and more traditional playing flourished and grew.

Léa is now based in Bristol, UK and plays worldwide— mainly in the band Fanel but also in a number of bands covering metal, alternative, jazz, pop and rock music. Léa is endorses Murat Diril Cymbals.

Swanny Elzingre

French batteuse Swanny Elzingre first learned to the play the piano but turned to drums at the age of 18. At 25 she decided to pursue a career in music and continued to strengthen her stage and studio playing. Her playing, which combines subtlety and femininity, lacks neither power nor bite.

Swanny has played in various styles (rock, pop, French chanson, soul) and in a variety of projects, including shows with French singer songwriter Cali and a tour with French singer songwriter Nach. In 2013, she gave the opening masterclass for the Drums Chelles Sessions— a major drum event/fair in the Paris region— with top European drummers Loïc Pontieux, Maxime Zampieri, Zaza Desiderio, Gergo Borai and Morgan Agren.

In 2015 Swanny toured the Zenith venues across France with French chanson singer Juniore, opening for best-selling act Brigitte . Her work with Juniore led to her being featured in the pages of Vogue, Elle and Grazia, and the French trend-setting magazine, Les Inrockuptibles.

More recently she has played drums live on national radio stations such as France Inter, Radio Nova, Ouï FM and on French national TV networks Canal +, France 5, Arte, France 2.

Swanny is influenced by drummers such as John Bonham, Dave Grohl, David Garibaldi, Steve Gadd and Nate Smith— and their world-class grooves.

Ophélie Luminati

Ophélie Luminati was born in 1993 in France. She started playing drums at 14 and, at 18, she studied at the Music Conservatory of Toulouse. She plays in many different styles and situations, including Ashbury girls (Pop/Rock), Théorie des Cordes (Rock Prog), Raphael Tristan quartet (jazz), Jenifer Machine (electro/ Pop), Chicxulub (World music), Times New Woman (jazz) and Aspirine (Pop). She also plays with Le Buddy Jazz Club (Classic Jazz), Swing Vandals (Swing), Lioness Shape ( Indie Pop Wild Jazz) and Honky Tonk Sail (Sailing Jazz Band).

Ophélie is passionate about old jazz and early jazz drummers. She specializes in New Orleans and Swing drumming with groups such as Bardi Manchot (Old jazz), Royal Pickles (old jazz) and Benny’s Jungle (Tribute to Benny Goodman Sextet).

She has played in several countries; France, Turkey, United Kingdom, Togo, North America, Portugal, Luxembourg, Belgium, Canada and others. In 2018 she was selected as the Champion of the French Hit Like a Girl contest.

Laëza Massa

Born in Montpellier, France, in 1992, Laëza Massa found interest in music at a very early age with her first piano. However, it was in her teen age that she first stepped on stage behind her drums. The live shows transcended her and she found herself passionate about pop music, rock music and blues, which enabled her to perform many concerts, very quickly.

She then attended the Music Academy International in Nancy, France, where she enlarged her knowledge and finished first graduate in her class in December 2013. In 2016, she replaced Olivier Baldissera (David Hallyday’s drummer) in Les Fous Chantants: a thousand-member chorus on stage singing the songs of Luc Plamondon in front of thousands of people.  The next year, she became one of the first female french drummers to be sponsored by the Tama. Paiste and In Ear SLX.

Lately she has been spending her time on two main projects: Ladies Ballbreaker, a female AC/DC live show and Miss America, a strong and bold rock band that released it’s debut album in June 2019. When she’s not on stage banging her kit, she teaches drums in a conservatory.

Amy Prajoux

Born in 1988 into a musical family, Amy Prajoux started learning the guitar before discovering percussion, when her guitar teacher refused to let her play the electric guitar (oh rock star dreams…). Although she spent 12 years learning in some of the best schools such as the National Conservatory of Music in Lyon and the National School of Music in Villeurbanne, she learned much more about music while practicing in orchestras. In 2005, she became the solo timpanist and head of the percussion section of the Lyon Symphony Orchestra.

When she was 10, her percussion teacher refused to teach her the drums, so she taught herself after her mum bought her a Pearl Export drumkit (because she was a bit done with hearing her hit on her pans…). However, like many other female drummers, Amy suffered from a lack of confidence on the drums. It took her 16 years and a round-the-world trip to finally become a professional drummer. During that trip, she met some of the best drummers on Earth to learn from them and overcome her fear of playing in public.

Amy found a second passion in personal development and business and chose to share it with other drummers in a unique event : the 360° Experience Drum Camp, supported by Dom Famularo. She also shares her expertise in Branding and Marketing with other artists and businesses through her company, Golden Spiral of Success.

Cindy Raoux

Cindy Raoux started playing drums at the age of 15 and is self-taught. She has played in different bands in the Lyon area of France and publishes many covers video on Youtube. She was a finalist in the 2013 “Hit Like A Girl” contest.

In recent years, Cindy has recorded for many artists, played for the rap singer LADEA with whom she has performed on many prestigious gigs including “Le Printemps de Bourges” throughout France and internationally and also played for the first edition of the Drumm’her Festival.

in 2018, Cindy began making musical arrangements for a Lyonnais pop project and producing her own music while continuing to play the drums.

Morgane Taylor

Morgane Taylor is a French drummer, born and raised in the sunny French Riviera. She grew up behind the drums, starting in 2000. Her professional playing includes studio sessions as well as live concerts.

At the age of only 27, she already played more than 100 live concerts both in France and Switzerland. Morgane shared the stage at Drummher Festival with Anika Nilles in 2018 and was selected as the solo drummer for a 360° video of the Cannes Lions Festival created by Asteroide.

Her progress and perseverance, along with her strong but elegant drumming, has allowed her to distinguish herself in the music industry.

Alex Gómez

Alex Gómez de Guadalajara, Jalisco. Su inquietud hacia la música nace a los 5 años, siendo su primer maestro e inspirador su padre José Gómez, pronto empieza a estudiar en el conservatorio de música de la U.D.G. y posteriormente tomó diversos cursos y master clases impartidos: Álvaro López Jr., Gregg Bissonette, Joey Heredia, Antonio Sánchez, etc. A los 15 años comienza su carrera profesional en Guadalajara como músico de sesión y formando parte de las mejores bandas locales.

Su acercamiento a la Ciudad de México fue a través de la expromusic 2000 con su banda de jazz McKanne, que era una de las bandas más jóvenes y reconocidas en Guadalajara, a raíz de esta presentación surgen diversas ofertas de trabajo, por lo cual cambio su residencia a la capital a los 20 años, es ahí donde realiza diversas presentaciones, giras a nivel internacional y grabaciones en estudio con artistas, entre los que destacan: Belinda, Yuri, Francisco Céspedes, Ha Ash, Cristian Castro, Mijares, María José, Lupita Dalessio, Alejandra Guzmán, Rio Roma, Emmanuel, Ricardo Montaner, Luis Fonsi, Torre Fuerte, David Bisbal, etc, actualmente también está tocando con su proyecto de jazz fusión Mr. Mckanne y con muchos músicos destacados en México.

Alex Gómez is originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. His passion for music was born at age 5 and his first teacher and inspiration was his father, José Gómez. Later, Alex began studying at the music conservatory of the U.D.G. As a result, various job offers arose; encouraging Alex to relocate to the capital at the age of 20. Since then he has performed in many concerts, international tours and studio recordings with artists such as Belinda, Yuri, Francisco Céspedes, Ha Ash, Cristian Castro, Mijares, María José, Lupita Dalessio, Alejandra Guzmán, Rio Roma, Emmanuel, Ricardo Montaner, Luis Fonsi, Torre Fuerte, David Bisbal and more. Alex continues to play with his jazz fusion project, Mr. McKanne and many prominent musicians throughout Mexico.

Ivette Gómez

Ivette Gómez Luna nació en Guadalajara, Jalisco el 29 de septiembre de 1989. Creció en un ambiente completamente musical, empezó a estudiar música a la edad de 10 años con su papa paco Gomez,continuo con clases privadas con sus primos y finalmente gano una beca en una escuela privada de música en la ciudad de Guadalajara.

inició tocando en el grupo versátil de sus papas (donde siempre diré que ah sido mi mejor escuela). en bares, programas de televisión y proyectos originales, trébol y MIKG.

En el 2014 decidió vivir en la Ciudad de Mexico en donde comenzó tocando en bares, grabaciones y composición de artistas independientes y amigos, en el 2016 se incorpora como la baterista oficial del grupo electro pop mexicano Belanova. también toca con mas artistas como: Magneto-Mercurio, Sophia Grey, Axel Muñiz y mas…

Ivette Gómez Luna was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in September 1989. She grew up in a completely musical family and started to study music at the age of 10 with her dad, Paco Gomez. Ivette continued with private classes with her cousins and eventually received a scholarship to attend a private music school in the city of Guadalajara.

She began started playing professionally in the her parents’ band (which, she admits, was the best training), in bars, television and on her original projects, Clover and MIKG.

In 2014 she decided to live in Mexico City where she began playing live in local clubs and recording with independent artists. In 2016 Ivette became the official drummer of the Mexican electro-pop band “Belanova”. Recently, she has performed with additional artists such as Magneto-Mercurio, Sophia Gray, Axel Muñiz and more.

Natalia “Moty” Miranda

Natalia Miranda (Moty Baketas) es una baterista de Hermosillo, Sonora, que ahora vive en la Ciudad de México. Actualmente, como parte del proyecto de Yamaha México “She’s Got The Groove”, está jugando con Salmerón, Silent Lune, Mint Parker y MonteCoral, por mencionar algunos.

Natalia Miranda (aka Moty Baketas) is a drummer from Hermosillo, Sonora who is now living in México City. Currently part of Yamaha Mexico’s project “She’s Got The Groove”, she is playing with Salmerón, Silent Lune, Mint Parker and MonteCoral to mention some.

Leo Padua

Leonardo Padua, baterista en Los Viejos, Annapura, y Bestia. Se ha especializado en géneros como Grindcore,Thrash, Death , jazz, entre otros. Clínicas presenciales, en redes sociales y clases particulares es la manera en que Leo comparte su conocimiento y experiencia, esto lo ha llevado a ser uno de los mayores lideres de opinión en el medio musical en México.

Monica del Valle

Moni del Valle inicia sus estudios en música a los 9 años de edad, para más adelante concluir la Licenciatura en Música en la Universidad de las Américas-Puebla, obteniendo Magna Cum Laude, uno de los más altos reconocimientos dentro de dicha institución.

Desde entonces traza una trayectoria implacable dentro de las que destacan la Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de Puebla, La Camerata de Coahuila, y como baterista de artistas como Cristian Castro y Juan Carlos Lozano (Moenia, Morbo).

In addition to her experience in various stages of the Mexican Republic and the world, such as the Palace of Fine Arts, the Treatro Metropólitan, the National Auditorium, Mexico City Arena, The Greek Theater (LA), Gran Rex Theater (Buenos Aires) , Nescafé Theater of Arts (Chile), Telcel Theater, Houston Arena Theater, among others, she received the sponsorship of Cympad, Remo, Montano Drumsticks, Selah Cajons, and Yamaha (with which she is part of the She’s Got The Groove project to inspire female musicians).

A finalist of the first edition of the “Hit Like A Girl” contest, Moni currently has an outstanding career in musical theater, being the drummer and percussionist in shows such as “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “José el Soñador”, “Amor Pop”, “Sessions México”,”Billy Elliot”, as well as the most important staging of Broadway shows in Latin America, including “Peter Pan”, “Mary Poppins”, “Wicked”, “The Lion King” and “Hello, Dolly!” by Ocesa Teatro.


Senri Kawaguchi

Senri Kawaguchi was a child prodigy in Japan, starting on drums at the age of five and then studying under the famous drum guru Mr. Kozo Suganuma when she was eight years old. She began winning contests and appearing on Japanese TV in 2007. At the age of 12 she started performing with the fusion band Fragile and released a DVD Horoscope. At that time she also posted her first YouTube performances.

In 2013 while still in high school Senri released her first album A La Mode which received positive reviews in Japan. In 2014 she formed a new unit Kiyo*Sen with organist Kiyomi Otaka. Their release Chocolate Booster, also garnered raves. Senri plays Yamaha drums, Evans heads, and Zildjian cymbals and sticks.

Yuki Ogawa

Hello everyone! My name is Yuki Ogawa. I am 14 years old and I’ve been playing drums since I was 3 year old. Last year, I was extremely proud to be selected as the under-18 champion of “Hit Like A Girl 2018”! This year, I am honored to be a judge for the contest.

Kanade Sato

Kanade Sato was born in Saitama Prefecture, Japan in 2002. Familiar with Jazz fusion and Pop music from an early age, she taught herself the melody of “Spain” (by Chick Corea) before speaking words. She started playing drums at 3 years old and decided to become a professional drummer at 5 years old. 

At that time, Kanade began taking drum lessons with Mr. Yoshihiko Iwai (session drummer). By the time she was 6, her parents posted a video of her playing drums on YouTube which caught the eye of the public and lead to performances with Mr. Minoru Mukaiya (ex. Casiopea). She was soon featured in TV, radio and magazines while continuing to post videos and audio recordings. Kanade also appeared at many educational events, festivals and conventions as well as in a promotional video for Roland V-Drums. 

In 2014 Kanade was selected as the Champion of the Hit Like A Girl global competition of female drummers in the under 18 age group and in 2016 she was invited to perform at the Singapore Drum Fest 2016. Over the past year, Kanade turned 15, appeared as “Lunetta” in the TV program NHK E-Tele “Musika Piccolino  (Season 5)”, signed an endorsement contract with Pearl Drums and formed her own band, “Ear Candy Jazz Factory”, with Rei Narita (Pf) and Naoko Sakurai (Bs).

Noriko Terada

Born in Japan, Noriko Terada started her musical life at the piano when she was just 3. Later, at the age of 11, she began playing percussion and quickly fell in love. During the course of her development, Noriko discovered a passion for many musical styles including Theater Musical, Jazz, World music, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Pop, R&B and Classical. She also studied classical ballet for 13 years.

After moving to Boston and graduating from Berklee College of Music, Noriko joined the Video Game Orchestra (VGO) with whom she performed at concerts, festivals and conventions all over the world. She was also featured on soundtrack recordings for popular video games such as Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy XIII-3 Lightning Returns. In 2012, she joined the multi award-winning theater/dance group, TAP DOGS and toured extensively with them throughout Asia Australia, Europe and the Middle East

More recently, the multi-percussionist has collaborated with a host of Grammy Award-winning artists, composers and producers including Anjelique Kidjo, Oscar Stagnaro, Don Was, Alan Silvestri, Jorge Drexler, Jamey Haddad, John Weston, Kenwood Dennard and Emily Elbert. She currently lives in Los Angeles.
