Sponsored by Sabian, Mapex, Sonor, Zildjian, Firth, Ludwig, Evans and Promark, the 2018 Hit Like A Girl international contest for female drummers includes six “Weekly” contests that occur during each week of the contest. These mini-contests feature teams of judges made up of female drum industry executives and artists. The selected weekly winners receive special prizes and automatically go on to the contest’s final round. Prizes include drums, sticks, heads and accessories contributed by the world’s top drum and percussion companies.
All contestants are eligible in the weekly contests but, since the pool of entries increases throughout the duration of the contest, contestants are encouraged to submit their entries as early as possible. The 2018 Hit Like A Girl Contest entry period ends April 11, 2018 and is followed by public and celebrity voting with the winners announced in mid-May.
