Ever since I can remember, I have had a fascination with percussions. My first encounter was at the age of 6, when my parents gave me a set of bongoes. I used them all the time, and never really let them out of my hands; but it wasn’t until the end of Jr high that I got my first set of drums. After playing them for the first time, I knew that I wanted to play for the rest of my life.
I started my musical education playing in the Church choir and forming my first Garage bands in a town called Reynosa, located on the Mexican border with the USA, where I grew up. At the end of high school I moved to Mexico City to study formally my instrument and make music my career.
I believe that learning and improving is a never ending process and I am currently still studying and taking different music and audio engineering courses to get better. I also play in a band of Blues and we have managed to play in different venues of the city. From this experience I’ve met many incredible persons who have the same passion for music as me and I realized that I enjoy playing all sorts of music, as long as I can reflect what is inside me with every movement of my hands and feet.
For me, playing the drums is to get out of reality, time does not exist and the feeling is truly undescribable. I think that being able to live doing what I like most, playing the drums and having fun, is a privilege that not everyone has. This is truly what I’m trying to achieve and a dream that I will always pursue.
