Shaina Mikee Keiths (born Shaina Leigh Ann Fober) in Coconut Creek, Fort Lauderdale, FL was raised most of her life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Growing up on classic rock, her drumming idols include: Keith Moon, Ringo Starr, Ginger Baker and John Bonham. David Bowie, Keith Richards, and Taylor Hawkins. Joan Jett also played a major role in her musical attitude development.
In the summer of 2011, Shaina received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts after completing their 5-Week Summer Performance Program and taking part in a talent‐based audition. She began her studies at Berklee in the Summer of 2012 till departing in the spring of 2014. Majoring in Contemporary Writing and Production she focused on her stronghold of Arranging. Since arriving at Berklee, Shaina has taken great advantage of the College’s resources: studying with Jackie Santos, drummer of John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band, Tavares, and Chuck Berry.
She has performed with David Ellefson of Megadeth, recorded tracks professionally with Gary Gramolini (founding guitarist of John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band), Daniel Day (bassist of Brian McKnight) and Tiny Tavares (singer of Tavares). She opened for and toured with Jefferson Starship and with her previous all‐female band, (previously managed by Nancy Quatro) opened for The Michael Allman Band. She recorded with Grammy winner Matthew Ellard ( producer/ engineer of Radiohead, Motorhead, Weezer, etc.) at Q Division Studios in Boston, MA and also recorded with Eric Delegard, another Grammy winner, in Dallas, TX.
Currently she is residing in Los Angeles as a touring artist. On top of playing world renown venues such as, The Whisky A Go Go, Viper Room, Rose Theatre, etc she is playing with various artists such as: group members from Foo Fighters, Jefferson Starship, Dio, Black Sabbath, Ringo Starr & His All Star Band, Quiet Riot, Dead Kennedy’s, Prince and many more. With Shaina’s strong stage presence, unique musical talent, rambunctious, bombastic, energetic and passionate playing style, the future holds nothing but success.
Although Shaina is best known for playing drums and percussion, she is also particularly adept on several other instruments, and is self-taught on vocals, piano, guitar, bass, harmonica, ukulele, mandolin and banjo.
