I'm Trinity. This is my first year entering Hit Like A Girl. I heard about the contest at Sweetwater's GearFest last summer and decided to enter the marching category this year. I have played marching percussion for two years, with a focus on snare. I'm also in my high school marching band, where I was in front ensemble where I played guitar and vibraphone my first year and marched snare the second. It was my first year marching because I didn't make the line my freshmen year, but I didn't give up or quit. I made a promise to myself that I would make the line next year no matter what, along with playing a group 1 snare solo that year for solo and ensemble, where I went to the state contest to receive a gold rating. It taught me to never give up or listen to the people who tell you can't do something, because they are wrong.
I also play violin and concert percussion. I am planning on auditioning for DCI and WGI groups so I can march through college at the next level. I am going to audition for WGI groups next year because my school district doesn't have winter percussion.
I chose to play Phantom Phrenzy as my solo because because it was a goal I set for myself after I found the piece last year. I played it for solo and ensemble this year and gold rating.
Anyways, thank you for watching my video! I wish all of the other competitors luck in their categories!
