Since I was a teenager, I would air drum to any music that I made me feel alive or moved in some way. It wasn't until I went to college that I decided to take a year of drum lessons. I've been playing on and off for the last 8 years. I have followed and watched many drummers on youtube and have learned drums just by sound and sight (Although I can read sheet music). My musical influences would be Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, and The Foo Fighters. I picked this Nirvana song because it challenged me on the double bass pedals and I enjoyed the fast tempo. I think the lyrics alone are enough said: simple yet powerful. I also just really love the 90s.
The reason I play drums is because it's like therapy. If I feel sad, angry, or happy and I find just the right song with words that resonate for me; It puts me in the zone and I feel inspired to let it out. In the future, I would like to be in a band where I can play at local venues for covers and original work.
