My first encounter with percussions was at the age of 6, when my parents gave me a set of bongoes. I used them all the time, and never really let them out of my hands; but it wasn’t until the end of Jr high that I got my first set of drums. After playing them for the first time, I knew that I wanted to play for the rest of my life.
I started my musical education playing in the Church choir and forming my first Garage bands in a town called Reynosa, located on the Mexican border with the USA, where I grew up. At the end of high school I moved to Mexico City to study formally my instrument and make music my career.
For me, playing the drums is to get out of reality, time does not exist and the feeling is truly indescribable. I think that being able to live doing what I like most, playing the drums and having fun, is a privilege that not everyone has. This is truly what I’m trying to achieve and a dream that I will always pursue.
I enjoy playing all sorts of music, as long as I can reflect what is inside me with every movement of my hands and feet. This Mariachi song to which I added drums I chose it because it speaks of my country of how amazing it is and although we may be in difficult times we must never forget the good things (applies to everything).
Thank you for watching, hope you´re having a great week! (:
