Hey folks! I'm back after four years, and I'm excited to join the HLAG conversation again! I'm a Berlin-based rock drummer with roots in Philly, PA. I've been drumming since I was 10, playing in bands since I was 13, and giving lessons since I was 17. During my teen years, I studied drumming and formed my first bands at a school for rock music in Philadelphia. After that, I studied under the amazing and versatile drummer Allison Miller in Brooklyn, who always pushed me to diversify my playing style and also inspired me to pursue drumming professionally.
Currently I play drums in projects ranging from doom jazz to electropunk: Mellowdeath, Sarattma, Aptera, Valerie Renay, and Mad Kate & The Tide-- and I also play guitar in Choral Hearse. When I'm not rehearsing or gigging with my bands, I give drum lessons with an extra focus on women and non-binary people-- doing what I can to increase our presence and visibility behind the drums! I also work as a session drummer and recently recorded and toured with The Brian Jonestown Massacre. When I'm not drumming, I co-organize Final Girls Berlin Film Fest, which showcases horror films made by women*. I like to keep an open ear for all kinds of musical collaborations and challenges, and I aim to keep pushing myself into new territory as a drummer.
Best of luck to all the rad women* out there who find their passion in hitting the drums, and to all those who put themselves out there on the Hit Like A Girl platform! It's a pleasure to see you all!
