Hi! My name is Rocío Luna. I am 25 years old and I am from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am an English and Drum Educator. I like my profession, for I do not only transmit content but also values and that is my way of contributing to future generations.
I started playing drums when I was 12 years old and I consider myself a self-taught drummer as I have always liked to learn how to play my favorite songs by watching drum covers and tutorials on YouTube. YouTubers like Meytal Cohen and Leperm influenced me in such a way that last year I was finally able to improve my gear in order to start developing my own YouTube channel with drum covers and analysis with the aim of encouraging new drummers.
It was not until 2015 that I formally took up classes at the J.P. Esnaola and some private classes with Pablo Aragona and Silvana Colagiovanni, but just for a few years. Among my great influences are John Bonham, Neil Peart, Anika Nilles, Chad Smith and Tomás Sainz.
I have played in lots of bands of various music genres since I was 15 years old, which has provided me with a lot of musical experience and versatility. I am currently playing in a female trio called Escorpia. Our music is a fusion between funk, rock, soul and hip-hop and the lyrics reflect on inequality and women's rights, among others. I also play in a band called Sinema, which allowed me to play with influential national artists such as Leo García, Piti Fernández and Rolo Sartorio.
