Rebeca Gibson de Albuquerque Nunes
Rebeca Nunes a.k.a. BEX is a beatmaker, music producer, singer, and composer from Natal, Brazil. Her passion started as a kid while singing in church choirs. As a 14-year-old she was a devoted cello student, but later her adventures in music festivals led her to fall for electronic music. Much has changed in the way for a musical career, but her music obsession and the desire to manufacture art never did. Today she's one of the most prominent independent artists in her region, and one of the few women in her hometown who are consistently part of the electronic music production, and who thrives in a national level. BEX started to release her music independently in 2017, and last year released an album through Rizomarte Records, a label also from Natal that promotes local artists. BEX has had lots of showcase experiences: she was part of Red Bull Music Pulso in 2019 (residency for musicians promoted by Red Bull Station in São Paulo), Sonora Festival of Natal (subsection of Sonora International Women Music Festival) in 2018, MADA Festival, DoSol Festival, Burburinho Festival, and many national or regional events. Her music is influenced by different genres, which makes her an enigma in terms of what to expect from her music. Experimentation and discovery are what to expect from BEX.
