ReAnna Ruiz

Music is my life. My parents are strict musicians, my father a performer and mother a music teacher. My main instrument is my voice, and I play piano as well. In 2001 I was accepted to Berklee College of Music as a vocal major with a minor in songwriting.

In 2004 I signed a Production Agreement with Jack Knight, an A&R and Sr. Songwriter at Bad Boy Entertainment. During this time I worked on an artist demo and had the opportunity to work with several different producers including Levi Little of Blackstreet, Joseph “Screwface” Charles, Deric “D-Dot” Angelettie & Harve Pierre from Bad Boy Entertainment.

After doing music for quite some time, with no prominent success, I retreated back to a 9-5 work routine doing music occasionally on the side, and eventually took a 7-year music hiatus. During that time I had two beautiful babies. They are the ones who inspired me to start doing music again. Given my hectic work schedule and maternal obligations as a single Mommy, I knew it would be difficult but I was ready for the challenge.

I decided to learn Music Production. In March 2021 I received my Specialization in Music Production through Berklee College of Music online (facilitated through Currently, I am taking courses to receive my Specialization in Electronic Music Production. I am proficient in ProTools and Ableton.
This is the first contest I have ever entered into and I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate.
