Hi everybody! I am a 72 year old drummer from Elmira, NY. I have been playing for about 20 years. I am mostly self taught, but I did take lessons off and on over the years. Now it is very easy and affordable to take online training. I especially like Drumeo for that. I also have learned a lot from the ladies at Drummergirls United, and Tammy has been a special inspiration to me. Other inspirations have been Karen Carpenter and Sam Ulano, the late jazz drummer. My goal was always to just have fun and be good enough to play with other musicians. I have been in a few bands and like going to jam sessions. I enjoy seeing what other women are doing in their corner of the world, which is why I chose me playing at a jam as my entry. I also have enjoyed meeting other drummers through this venue. Good luck to everyone!

Good song choice. Nice drumming. Not sure if the organ player is playing left hand bass or pedals. But I loved the overall sound.

thank you Lizzy. This is an old video. Hope to do better next year. I will never stop playing. Will have to pry the drum sticks out if my cold dead hands. LOL

Hey, Rasila! Good to see you submitted a video again this year. I always like seeing you play with such confidence and ease- well done! I haven’t been around Drumeo/WotE in a while since my surgery, but now that this contest extended the entry period, I’m going to try to get a video in. Thanks for the inspiration! Hope all is well with you:)
