Hi! My name is Naru. I'm an 11 years old Japanese. I covered a piece of digital music called "Hibana." This type of music is called Vocaloid. It is a technology that allows devices to create a singing voice by simply inputting the lyrics and melody. It is a very popular music genre in Japan, and I'm sure you will love it too!
When I was 8 years old, I loved playing drumming games at the arcade. So, I started taking drum lessons to complete the game. Through my lessons, I became fascinated by the drums, and ever since, I forgot about the game and fell in love with playing the drums. At age 9, I formed a band with my school principal, who played the guitar, my vice-principal, who sang vocals and my class teacher at my school festival. It was a huge success! At 10 years old, I joined a Big Band Jazz group. I perform on stage many times throughout the year.
I enjoy playing Jazz, Jpop, and Rock!
Playing the drum is different from playing sports, and there isn't a competition like the Olympics to choose the world's best. When I asked my drum coach what the goals are to become a good drummer, he replied: "To have many companions around you." From my school band to the Jazz band, I have plenty of fellow drummers around me. I'm so happy to play music with my friends and very blessed to be with them! I want more people to listen to my drum though this Hit Like A Girl contest, and I would like to become a better drummer!
Please cheer me on, and let's become drumming friends!
