Hello! My name is Luana Brazzan, I'm 17 years old and I'm from Lima, Perú! Since I was little I found a great calling about percussion in general, having studied in the Music Conservatory of Perú for 3 years, I learned some instruments like Marimba, Vibraphone, Concert Percussion, Drum set and much more. After I turned 15 I decided to focus my musical journey on the Drums, as it was the instrument in which I could express myself in a more natural way.
Since the beginning, my attention was drawn by Latin music, being born in a country full of culture and arts I developed a great passion for Afro-Peruvian Music, genres such as Festejo, Landó, Zamacueca, Marinera, Huayno were just a few of all the beautiful genres my country has to offer. After studying Peruvian music, and other genres like Jazz, Funk, Rock, Reggae, I started studying Latin Music, specifically, Afro-Cuban Rhythms.
In the video above I present a medley that mixes different Afro-Cuban grooves like Bembe Afro-Cubano in 6/8, Cáscara, Mambo Bell, Guaguancó, Mozambique and Songo with the Congas and Clave companion of the well-known percussionist Hugo Alcazar, who is also my drum teacher.
With this video I want to show a different scene of what is often seen, I want to show just a spark of what the Latin Music can offer to the rest of the world and like we say in my country, con harto sabor y corazón!
