I've always dreamed of being a drummer, drums are the most beautiful thing in the world. I don't come from a particularly musical family or anything, but I always wanted to be a drummer. So I was 13 I started learning and ever since then Iv just played as much as I can with the hope that one day I can be a professional. Until that day comes I'm working for my parents sandblasting business where I sweep up sand on building sites.
There has been hundreds of very different bands I've played with on my journey so far. One of the most significant experiences was when I was a teenager and started playing in big bands. I played with a load of old jazzers 4x my age who would make me improvise long buddy rich style drum solos, which I found terrifying at the time but eventually learnt to just to let loose and go with it. Now many people know me as a jazz and funk drummer and I've been lucky enough to perform at some big jazz clubs including main stage at Ronnie Scotts. Nowadays when I'm not in lock down I am mostly busy with my all girl heavy rock/metal band 'HAWXX.'
I've known about HLAG for years but I've always chickened out. But at the last minute after a bit of peer pressure, I thought ok I guess I'll film something! I thought I'd film me just having a jam in my room as if there's no one watching. Since getting in trouble with the local council, I'm only allowed to play for 30 minutes. So I filmed my 30 mins yesterday and picked out a little snippet to share!
