Jenny Maritza Ramírez Osorio
Heliconia is part of the album 'Heliconia feedback' made in the laboratory project called Jennitza. The album is inspired by noise and cyberpunk. Heliconia is the name of one of the plants originating in South America, it protects water sources and they are essential in reforestation. Its erect ryzome, branch and shoot production patterns give it variable capacities for its vegetative (or asexual) reproduction.
It was recorded in his studio, located in Entre Ríos, Argentina, in the autumn-winter period of 2019. Created through field recordings used as samples, the experimentation of free sessions and improvisation in real time, recording and obtaining sound ideas , timbres, polyrhythms and textures between synthesizers, DIY machines, the use of the "no input mixing" technique, sequencers and clarinet in a natural and / or processed way.
In general Jenny wants to reflect the personal quest to understand the world and to know herself through sound, making people reflect on their sound, connect through their sonic memories and see themselves in their music. His musical work is honest, intimate and personal. This is how his productions give life to sounds and atmospheres that constantly blur the boundaries between indie, minimal, modern composition and electronic / electroacoustic music, etc.
