Hi, my name is Izzy Lamberti and I am a 17-year-old female drummer from New Jersey. I have been playing for over 10 years and have been influenced by various artists: Queen, Miley Cyrus, Fleetwood Mac, Anika Niles, and many more. This is my third year being a part of the Hit Like A Girl Contest and every year I am so excited to be involved.
I’ve played for multiple recording artists and I’m in several bands. Over the years I have been blessed to be able to perform and use my music to help several fundraisers such as “Light of Day”, “Kick Cancer Overboard”, “ Epilepsy Foundation” and Brookdale College CVA Gallery where I met Steven Van Zandt and Carmine Appice. I’ve worked with a hip-hop band, which was a “mash-up” initiative with The boys and girls club of America. I also had the opportunity to meet several famous drummers: Bernard Purdie, Will Calhoun, Jay Weinberg, and Max Weinberg.
In 2019 I participated in the “Hit Like A Girl” contest and was awarded the Berklee 5-week Aspire intensive Scholarship. It was the most amazing experience! I realized how much I need and want to learn about music. This is where I discovered the Berklee “Rock Workshop”, which I applied for the following year. I was gratefully awarded that scholarship in summer 2020. It was remote due to covid but it was still awesome. As you can see I LOVE playing the drums…rhythm is forever in my soul! This song I chose to play is an expression of how happy I am to be in this contest.
