Isabella “Bella” Rothenbuhler
- We had planned to complete a solo at a near by studio. Then it closed due to Covid 19. -
Hi, My name is Isabella Rothenbuhler. I am a 7 year old girl from Perrysburg, Ohio USA. Most people call me “Bella”. My mom is from Córdoba Argentina and my dad is from the USA. So, my musical influences are a mix of my mother and fathers most listened to music while growing up.
I am noticeably quiet and shy. In fact, they were concerned enough to consult a specialist as to why. Although, about a year ago, I first saw Eduarda Henklein (a 10 year old drummer girl from Brazil) playing Zeppelin’s Black Dog. I remember how excited I was, to see a girl drummer. I asked my dad, “Girls can be drummers too”? He said, “Yes, of course they can”. I then asked him to buy me a drum set, and he said, ”No, of course not”.
Well, over a period of several weeks, I drove my parents crazy, with using, silverware, pencils, and yes, even my hands, as drumsticks on every table desk or solid surface I was near. Long story short; My parents bought me my first drum set. It was a pink Gammon Jr Set, and since then, there has not been a quiet day at home. Now I learn to read music on Saturdays and Play at my instructors studio on Wednesdays.
Drumming has helped me “come out of my shell”. It helped me express my self in ways that I could not before. I love to drum and I thank my influences: Yoyoka, Mia Morris, Sina, Eduarda Henklein and others.
