Hi, there! My name is Yen-Hsuan Ho, you can call me DingDing.
When I was three years and nine months old, I started learning how to play the drum kit. In no time, I fell in love with the charming set, and it always accompanies me when I have too much academic studies, just to make me enjoy my life.
I made a world record that I passed the British Rockschool exam – Drums Grade 3, when I was 5. And now, I am about to break my own record. At the age of 8, I plan to pass the Rockschool Grade 8 exam, which is the highest grade in the system before diploma.
Here in Taiwan, I’ve completed plenty of competitions since I was 4, and I have offered stunning performances to the audience, and received brilliant scores from the judges. In October 2018, I was the designated opening performer for Rockschool’s new book launch and seminar in Taiwan. Also, I was the only opening performer to a music festival press conference. Last year, I flew to Hong Kong for the international music festival competition and won the first place for the Hong Kong Team. Plus, I received the highest score in the same age group.
And now, trust your eyes and believe what you see. What I’m playing in the video clip is a left- handed drum setup. I would like to share the song “Mind the Gaps” with you. The song is mainly of a funk style, and I hope you will like it.
In conclusion, I’m delighted and honored to be one of the contestants for this “Hit Like a Girl” competition, and I wish you have a wonderful day every day.
