I'm 20 years old and from the UK, and I've been playing the drums since I was 10, after listening to music on Kerrang for the first time! I was very into playing rock as loudly as I could, and I went through a lot cymbals in the process. I got my first lessons when I was 11 at school; when I was slightly older I had brilliant teachers who gave me a much more eclectic taste in music, and started to home in on technique.
Since then I've gone down the path of session musicianship; being fortunate enough to work voluntarily in a studio on various projects from Country music to Rap. I've also busked alongside a Bluegrass banjo, and played a one-off Jazz improv gig that felt like an awesome time warp back to the 70's!
I'm working more now on my own compositions involving digital production and live drums, because I love how the combination sounds and looks when played live. Jojo Mayer's Nerve are a massive inspiration for me, as I feel the music adapts to the instruments rather than vice versa.
I am going to university in September 2019 to study Digital Music and Sound Arts in Brighton, which is my dream location as a musician. I have been lucky to meet very inspiring and encouraging people on the way so far so I can't wait to see where I can take drumming next!
