The deal was, after I stuck with the flute for a year, my parents agreed to let me play any instrument I wanted. (They were hoping it was a phase.) You should've seen the look on their faces when I told them I wanted to play the drums! They gave me my first practice pad and pair of sticks, I have been pursuing music and drumming ever since!
If there were any opportunities to play in school, I was in! From early morning Jazz Band, to concert band, marching band, pep band, percussion ensemble, orchestra, pit orchestra, and even drum circles. My pursuit for additional education took me from the rocky mountains of the Northwest, to the twang of Nashville, Tennessee which I now call home. The talent is fierce, the people are kind and driven, and I am inspired to be a better player by all the many genres and musicians that reside here.
Due to some physical health problems in recent years, I haven't been able to devote as much time to my playing as I would like, but I am on the mend and I am so happy to be breaking through those challenges and participating alongside so many inspiring and talented women in the 2018 HLAG contest!
GROOVE- One of my favorite things in music and a favorite thing to play. I had a blast putting grooves together for this track! Enjoy!
