Hi, Camellia. Thanks for your entry. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to get more female drummers in the service to participate in Hit Like A Girl. We know there are a lot of them in military bands.

    • Thanks so much for the platform to share. Unfortunately there are not too many female drummers in the military bands. I currently know one female drummer in the Fleet US Navy Bands and while I served I was 1 of 2 female drummers in the entire Navy music program. Iโ€™m looking forward to more female drummers joining military bands in the future though. Itโ€™s only a matter of time. Girl Drummers are awesome ๐Ÿ˜

We attend the PAS convention every November and there are usually a few drummers there from the Army bands. Let me know if you have any contacts. We need to fix this.

        • I agree, change is definitely necessary. I still keep in touch with all the female military drummers I met during my time in service. I still have contacts and would be happy to share. ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ˜

Nicely played! I played in Air Force bands for 6.5 years a long time ago. Have great memories of playing with some great people, playing memorable venues, and getting to travel.
