I started playing drums in the school music program when I was 10 years old. I played in high school and college and then adult life took me away from music. I play now for my own enjoyment and to connect with others. This is my second year entering the Hit Like A Girl contest. I feel it’s important for me to participate in support of the contest and sponsors, so that they know how important this opportunity is for female drummers. I feel no one is too old to enjoy playing drums and having music a part of our life. I play a Tama Club Jam kit with Roland triggers and a TD-9 electronic module. It’s quiet and house friendly and allows me to customize the drum sounds and be creative without having alot of extra gear. The song I choose is Who Loves You, a drumless track made famous by The Four Seasons. It was a challenging song for me, and I love the hi-hat work throughout the piece. Thanks so much for continuing this contest and the sponsors for continuing to encourage the next generation of female drummers!
