Hi, my name is Sophia Blanco. I am 13 years old and live in Houston, Texas. I started playing the drums when I was 5. Music has always been an important part of my life. I like all genres of music. Everything from pop, to rock, to R&B, and even house music. As a drummer, the top musicians that have inspired me the most are Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Neil Peart, and Danny Carey. I chose to submit a cover of Everlong in honor of Taylor Hawkins. I was very sad to hear of his passing. I thank my parents and family for their support during my drumming journey. I would also like to thank my drum instructor, Mr. Andy Acuna, who has taught me since I started taking lessons. Last but not least, I would like to send a huge shout out to all the other drummers that have submitted videos for this contest. You are all a true inspiration for all girls around the world.
