Sara Valeria González
🤍 My name is Sara Valeria Gonzalez, I’m 10 years old and I’m from Mexicali, Mexico (Mexicali is a small border town between California, US & Baja California, MX).
One day, by the end of December 2020 (just in the middle of the pandemic), I started to feel a little bit anxious because I really missed school and I had to stay at home and very sad things were happening around the world. So, I talked to my parents and they suggested that I could learn something new, like a musical instrument. I watched some videos and I discovered DRUMS, I was amazed and I told them that I wanted to try them. At that time, I took on-line drum classes for several weeks and I was so happy when I started going face-to-face classes for the first time! You cannot imagine! <3
Since then, 14 months have passed, playing the drums and listening to new music that I had never dreamed about has meant so much for me. I’m not the same girl now, I feel more confident, more motivated. Drumming has brought a special and exciting meaning to my life.
I’m so thankful to my parents for their support and to my teacher Isaac Sierra for his patience and for inspiring me to improve every day.
Thank you for reading my story. Thanks HLAG for this opportunity, “Girls really can play drums or do whatever we choose!”
Lots of love to my drumsisters 🤍
