panchaX beatz was born and raised in Screwston ( Houston, Texas ). After traveling and living across the US, panchaX beatz calls San Antonio, Texas, home. She is a self-taught, street-schooled ethnomusicologist. Her music explores the connections between the Tejana experience, indigenous Mexican roots, 90’s H-Town hip hop/dirty south rap music, religious ideologies, and the duality of fitting in everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
panchaX beatz creates the soundscape of the wildly complex Mexican-American, Latinx, queer, colonized, mujer experince. She speaks Spanglish, has a nopal en la frente and bluebonnets en her jardin, baila at quinceañeras and dances in the school gym, grew up eating hot dogs and tacos, loves Frida Kahlo and Andy Warhol, will never turn down a good shot of tequila or a Kentucky bourbon, knows how to celebrar and meditate in silence. panchaX brings this complex richness into everything she does, especially in her beats. Through panchaX beatz she is contributing to filling the Latinx representation gap in the industry. She has her eye on bringing la Latinx voz to the world of music/sound sampling. Siempre Chingona pXb.
