Hi, I’m Niri, 44, from Israel, and this is my second year in the HLAG contest.
I’m a content manager and writer, lecturer, blogger, and mother of two.
Since the drums came into my life, it feels like I’m the third teenager in the house 🙂
About five years ago, I bought myself a birthday drum lesson as a gift, just for fun, and since then, my life has not been the same.
Drumming felt so natural and part of me from the first moment. It is one of the things in my life that fills me with great happiness, that sometimes cannot be explained in words.
For the past two years, I have been playing in a band with friends, mostly for fun, and recently I decided to take the subject of technique seriously, and I work with a new teacher on improving the basics and developing my creativity in drumming.
After the experience of participating in the contest last year, I began to research the female drumming scene in Israel, which is relatively small but super cool, and not appreciated enough.
I want to be able to encourage more and more female drummers and young girls from Israel to participate in the contest, and eventually to bring HLAG to Israel and have a local contest here, so that more and more female drummers will be seen here in major concerts and TV shows regularly.
