Hillyn Natter
United States
Hillyn is a mother of two creative problem solvers, an ever-evolving learner, a musician, home improvement wanna-be, and a fan of the underdog. She started as a self-taught drummer, throwing on her headphones in moments of teenage angst, blowing off steam while playing along to her drum idols. At the age of 18 she began formal lessons first with Phil Franco, then Jeff Seigal, Dave Smith, and Frank Marino author of the instructional book “Time Capsule”. You will often find Hillyn performing or organizing a local Fundraiser, like the annual “Jams for Cans”, sitting on the Southern Connecticut Arts Equity Round Table, or raising funds for underprivileged students to attend music camp. In the study of rhythm, Hillyn found clarity, connection, community, and compassion, gifts that she strives to share with all. Hillyn holds a BA in Music Performance, a Master’s in Music Education, and is a High School Band Director. When she is not “momming” or teaching, she is practicing and making videos for her Instagram “Five Minute Drummer” and running the family music shop, Face Arts Music.
Hillyn, you are so talented, generous, musical and compassionate. Go girl!!!!
Thanks Martha!
