Anastasiia Sirotina

Hi! My name’s Anastasiia and I’m from a small town in the North of Russia.

When I was a child, I always tapped my foot in dance classes to the rhytm of music. It was fun. Then, when I was a bit older, whenever I listened to anything I always imagined myself playing it on drums. And finally, when I moved to Saint Petersburg at the age of 18, I went to a famous russian drum school – Drumstarz. The heartwarming teachers made my experience unforgettable. When I just started I didn’t know anything about drummers, rock and metal culture or famous people of the music industry. I simply wanted to make something that would carry my emotions and express who I am through music. It brings me joy and pure happiness.

After a year of training at Drumstarz, my teacher offered to play at a concert. I played personal and twin drum covers there. In summer I like to perform with the street bands in front of the crowd. Street music is a huge part of Saint Petersburg experience, and contributing to it, seeing the smiles on peoples’ faces, seeing them enjoying the music, singing along and dancing fills my heart with joy. Playing drums makes me feel better and betters the world around me. A cover of Adam Lambert’s ‘Whataya want from me’ is my message to live and feel. Enjoy this!
