Hit Like A Girl has announced that teams of executives and celebrity drummers representing the world’s leading drum and percussion companies will judge six weekly “mini- contests” during the 2017 Hit Like A Girl global contest for female drummers.
Week 1 (February 1-7) – Yamaha: Prudence Elliott and Terri Lyne Carrington
Week 2 (February 8-14) – Sabian: Stacey Montgomery-Clark, Katie Bursey and Elie Bertrand
Week 3 (February 15-21) Zildjian: Craigie Zildjian, Sarah Hagen and Emily Dolan-Davies
Week 4 (February 22-28) – Roland: Jordan West and Chastity Ashley
Week 5 (March 1-7) – DW/LP: Elizabeth Lang, Terri Tlatelpa and Meytal Cohen
Week 6 (March 8-14) –Mapex and Evans/Promark: Danielle Argentina and Lindsay Artkop
Each week of the contest, one winner in the under and over 18 age divisions of the drumset category will be selected and receive prizes from the participating company. Other than contestants who have already been chosen, all entries are eligible every week. Weekly winners will be announced at the end of every week beginning the second week in February. The weekly contest winners are separate from the 24 drummers in each age division that will be selected as finalists and go on to compete for $1000’s in drum gear from sponsoring electronic and acoustic drum, cymbals, stick, heads, mic’, hardware and percussion companies.
