Location: London, England, United Kingdom
Now studying at the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, I first started my percussion journey at the age of 7 when I joined an African drumming group at my primary school. This quickly expanded into an interest in Afro-Cuban music and carnival, then drum set, and finally orchestral percussion.
After years of being self taught on drum set and Latin I auditioned for the percussion and drum kit course at Trinity Laban and got an offer in 2015. Now in my second year of studying here I am constantly inspired by my teachers, Steve White on drums and Gary Kettel on percussion.
I am very lucky to have worked with some amazing artists on percussion, including performing with Olly Murs, Gregory Porter, Clare Teal, A J Brown, Pee Wee Ellis, Sir Tim Rice, and more. I am also very passionate about musical theatre and love working in pit bands, some of the shows that I’ve done include Jesus Christ Superstar, Wicked, West Side Story, Witches of Eastwick, Footloose, Oklahoma, Oliver, Little Shope of Horrors, Les Mis and many more.
I had the joy of getting to sit in to watch In The Heights before it shut in London and was blown away by it. This inspired me to really work on my World Percussion skills, an area I am currently very interested in specialising in.
Thank you for watching my entery and I hope you enjoy me jamming along to “The Club” from In the Heights!
